A CDM Smith press release on the contract notes: "Projects under the $950 million contract include military family housing, fueling systems, range construction, pavement systems, and classified or highly secure facilities."
CDM Smith has also received $168.13 million to date through contracts with the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the federal agency responsible for carrying out the US government's regime of tracking, detentions, and deportations of Black and Brown migrants.

In 2016, MIT Sloan School of Management gave an award for "innovation" to CDM Smith CIO David Neitz. CDM Smith is a Boston-based contractor that has received hundreds of millions USD for construction work in Israel, including work for the Israeli military.
As of 2016 CDM Smith was using Microsoft's HoloLens to, in their words, "help our clients design, build and operate their infrastructure assets faster and more efficiently." CDM Smith's CIO David Neitz has stated about the product: "Next generation technologies like this [Microsoft HoloLens] will revolutionize our industry by allowing all stakeholders to visualize, communicate and collaborate together in the design and construction process in a more experiential and transparent process." Of note, the Israeli army and US Air Force also both brag about their use of Microsoft's HoloLens for training and for hunting down "enemies."
CDM Smith supported Harvard in the design of the university's Allston campus. CDM writes on their website: "Harvard University’s 200-plus acre Allston campus development is a model of environmental stewardship ... To support the project, we are designing a green campus-wide utility delivery system that will provide for all thermal, electrical and wet utilities, including steam, natural gas, heating and chilled water, electricity, stormwater, water and sewer, and telecommunications."
