According to its website, Noresco is there to help prisons address “immense budgetary pressures and unrelenting challenges, including a growing inmate population, aging buildings and deferred maintenance needs,” as well as “recent energy mandates and 'greening' requirements place additional burdens on these high energy intensity, 24x7 operations. Noresco states on its website that it has serviced “at sites ranging from minimum security to Supermax,” and that it works with local, state, and federal prisons.
Noresco also services the US Air Force, which includes a contract with the Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts.
According to USASpending.gov, between 2008 and 2022, Noresco has received a total of $1.1 billion in federal funding, with the top sponsoring US agencies being Department of Defense ($364M) Department of Veterans Affairs ($206M), and Department of Justice ($197M).
