RTN Federal Credit Union is a bank formed in partnership with weapons company Raytheon in 1945, originally meant to serve Raytheon’s employees. Today, Raytheon employees remain a large percentage of RTN’s clients. RTN also states on its website that it "is proud to serve the employees of General Dynamics," another weapons developer whose employees get access to "no-cost virtual financial education seminars" at RTN.
According to its website, “RTN Federal Credit Union serves more than 1,100 sponsor groups including two major employers in Massachusetts – Raytheon Technologies and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.” Some of RTN's funds “are insured in full by the Massachusetts Share Insurance Corporation (MSIC).”
Financial institutions like RTN Federal Credit Union play a critical role in sustaining firms Raytheon and General Dynamics, making these companies materially “attractive” places to work (at least for some workers).
