International Union of Police Associations

The International Union of Police Associations (IUPA) is a police union which represents police officers across North America, operating under the umbrella of the AFL-CIO. Nationally, IUPA has aggressively opposed any criticism of systemic racism in policing, even the weak public relations initiatives undertaken by the AFL-CIO in the aftermath of the uprising against racist police killings in 2020.

In 2019, International Union of Police Associations AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Hugh Cameron participated in the "MA Labor Study Tour of Israel," an expenses-paid propaganda trip to Israel coordinated by the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston in collaboration with the Jewish Labor Committee. Cameron is also listed as a "Community Leader" who supports the JCRC's "Boston Partners for Peace," an initiative aimed at normalizing relations with Israel and undercutting international solidarity with Palestinians. According to his online bio, Cameron has a long history representing police unions, including through positions as President of the Sharon Police Association, Vice President and then President of the Massachusetts Coalition of Police, IUPA Executive Board Region 12 Vice President, and International Secretary-Treasurer for the International Union of Police Associations AFL-CIO.
