The Carlisle Police Department is a member agency of the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC). NEMLEC is a "law enforcement council," which organizes SWAT teams and obtains military equipment for use by local police and other law enforcement agencies, while operating largely out of public view as a semi-private organization.
The Carlisle Police Department is a member agency of CEMLEC. Like other Law Enforcement Councils (LECs) in Massachusetts, CEMLEC functions to increase regional collaboration between police and sheriff's departments, while organizing SWAT teams and obtaining military equipment for use by its member agencies and operating largely out of public view as a semi-private organization.
