BINJ is a prison industry-focused private telecommunications and surveillance company. The company’s products provide IT support to prison officials, as well as track and monitor communications by incarcerated people. In addition to operating in Massachusetts, they work with NYDOC and FBOP. Their primary product is CellScan specializes in finding cell phones and tracking locations of incarcerated people. The operators of the company have worked significantly with the Dept. of Defense as government contractors as well, specifically attempting to help military personnel track targets and enhance weapons accuracy. BINJ is also seeking to use its signal detection system with law enforcement, other government entities, airlines, and businesses who might want to limit “unauthorized cell phone use.” The CEO, Joseph Noonan also founded The Corrections Connection.
