The Israel Summit at Harvard, recently renamed "The Israel Summit," is a multi-campus event which uses pomp and propaganda to celebrate Israel and to whitewash over the realities of Israel's ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homeland and theft of Palestinian resources.
The Israel Summit at Harvard began in 2017 as a student-led project which, according to the event's website, was a response to "vicious anti-Israel sentiment on campus" and a need for "a more nuanced, balanced dialogue." Far from striving toward any semblance of "nuanced, balanced dialogue," annual iterations of the Israel Summit have combined an assemblage of speakers from the Israeli government and national Zionist lobbying organizations alongside University leaders singing Israel's praises. Speakers at The Israel Summit have used the platform in service of the international effort to "Brand Israel" as a "start-up nation" and "innovation hub," Zionist propaganda which was then blessed with Harvard's institutional legitimacy by the presence of University leadership as speakers at the summit as well, such Dean of the Harvard Business School Nitin Nohria who spoke at The Israel Summit in 2020. Per their website, The Israel Summit also includes "an Israel Tech and Special Opportunities Fair where students can engage with representatives from top Israeli companies and discover a multitude of trips to Israel for people of all backgrounds." Beginning in 2019, The Israel Summit expanded from Harvard onto other campuses, and in 2021 organizers stated that the Summit was occurring on "college campuses across the globe."
