Excelitas Technologies Corp. is a photonics technology company based in Salem, MA. Excelitas develops lasers, optomechanical technologies, sensors/detectors, and other components, which it sells to the US and Israeli governments for military purposes.
Excelitas products include photonic technologies used to equip "anti-tank, cruise, air-to-surface, air-to-air, maritime ballistic and missile-defense applications." Excelitas also provides "Special Forces, National Defense Forces, Law Enforcement and Professional Security" with technologies including "Night Vision, Thermal and Fused Sighting, Surveillance and Target Location systems." Excelitas regularly promotes its products at weapons industry and law enforcement exhibitions (see for example: here and here). Excelitas Technologies has received $9.7 million to date through sales to the US Department of Defense, and the company has received $2.20 million to date through sales to Israel, including over $1 million to do work in Israel in 2020 and 2021 alone (example contract here).
